Unemployment and Depression

US unemployment rate, by county (Dec, 2008)

They seem to go hand in hand. I guess I’m only saying this because I am unemployed and I’ve been feeling a bit depressed here lately.

It’s just unnatural for one to be at home all day and be unproductive. Unless of course they are retired and have contributed to society in years prior.

But me at age 25 23, well that’s unacceptable. I’d much rather be working. No longer living off my small savings and just for the heck of it, interacting with other adults. Even those times with co-workers when you want to slap some sense into them. Oh, how I long for those days.

But I must say being unemployed has taught me a lot. It has taught me how to budget and how to comfortably live a life that doesn’t depend entirely on monetary funds.

I want for nothing, a few luxuries, but my needs have been met.

I just want, a job.
